Fight Corruption and Pass Ethics Reform

Government must be used to serve the needs of people, not for enriching oneself or corporate special interests. That is why we must bring an end to pay-to-play politics and the corrupt family dynasties of “Crook County.”

If we are to ever restore the public’s trust in Cook County government, we must institute sweeping ethics reforms.

As Commissioner, I will work to:

  • Ban Cook County board members from holding outside employment such as real estate or property tax attorneys.
  • Prohibit current and former elected officials from becoming lobbyists with the county.
  • Eliminate conflicts of interests when awarding county contracts.
  • Exercise oversight of our broken property tax system.
  • Bring in a new era of transparent, clean, accountable government that mandates regular reporting of all county board office actions and records easily accessible and available to the public online.
