Cook County’s 8th District is a vibrant area on the northwest side of the City of Chicago.
The 8th district is a culturally and economically diverse district spanning 17 neighborhoods throughout the city. Primarily comprised of middle-class and working-class residents, the 8th District is known for its rich immigrant history and is home to residents of Puerto Rican, Mexican, and Polish descent among many other ethnicities.
The 8th district contains portions of Logan Square, Humboldt Park, Irving Park, Hermosa, Bucktown, Belmont Gardens, Avondale, Old Irving Park, Kilbourn Park, Belmont Craigin, Belmont Central, Schorsch Village, Montclaire, Portage Park, Hanson Park, West Humboldt Park.
